HOUSTON (March 26, 2015) – Mobil Steel International, Inc. President and CEO, Leonard A. Bedell, joined more than 100 statewide members of the commercial and industrial construction and supply industry last month in Austin to promote open competition and free enterprise to members of the 84th Texas Legislature during Associated Builders and Contractors Legislative Days.
The ABC Houston chapter visited offices of approximately 50 local and regional legislators, promoting the ABC free enterprise philosophy and discussing legislation that could help Texas construction businesses thrive. Fairness within the industry, in regards to competition, liability, taxation, and worker classification, was the foundation for ABC members when discussing legislation with the lawmakers. In addition to visiting legislative offices at the Capitol, ABC Texas held a reception welcoming legislative members and staff to visit with ABC members to better understand issues facing the industry.
