HOUSTON (February 10, 2011) – Mobil Steel International, Inc. president and CEO Leonard A. Bedell joined some 100 owners, senior officers and managers of commercial and industrial construction and supply companies to promote open competition and free enterprise principles to members of the 82nd Texas Legislature during Associated Builders and Contractors Legislative Day February 9th in Austin.
The ABC Houston chapter visited nearly 50 area lawmakers, sharing the ABC free enterprise system philosophy and discussing legislation that could help Texas construction businesses lead an economic recovery. Transparent and open competition, reasonable regulation and fairness were cornerstones ABC members asked legislative members to consider as they pass legislation to get the Texas economy moving.
“Owners, executives and managers of large and small construction and service companies took time away from their businesses to get involved with Texas legislative members,” said Bedell. “We shared with area elected officials and their staffs what is important for business and industry as we help rebuild the Texas and U.S. economies.”
Bedell is an active member of Associated Builders and Contractors Greater Houston Chapter. ABC is America’s leading commercial and industrial construction trade association dedicated to advancing and protecting the construction industry through open competition and free-enterprise.
