MOBIL STEEL EMPLOYEES FIND WAYS TO ASSIST LOCAL COMMUNITY

During industry expansion and bustling business activity, Mobil Steel International, Inc. employees still find time to serve the company’s core value of giving back to its community. Supporting causes that assist children or disadvantaged families to organizations providing scholarships and helping unemployed workers find jobs, Mobil Steel employees directly participate in community causes.

Charitable programs supported by Mobil Steel and its employees include Boys and Girls Country, a Christian home which provides children from families in crisis with education and opportunities to prepare for a successful life, Pasadena Youth Football, Buckner Foundation Children and Family Services Toy Run, area Special Olympics, M.D. Anderson Christmas Card program, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, and Clearwood Charger Little League Youth Program.

Mobil Steel also sponsors auto shows that raise funds for community charities, including Houston Construction Industry Auto Show which provides military veterans affordable transitional housing, training and counseling programs to develop skills that help veterans adjust to civilian life and Space City Cruiser’s Car Club which donates funds to Texas Lions Camp to assist children with physical disabilities and diabetes, and collects funds for student scholarships.

Mobil Steel management also engages with Associated Builders and Contractors Houston and helps fund construction industry scholarships ABC awards local students pursuing industry careers at colleges like San Jacinto, Lee, and University of Houston. Mobil Steel champions free enterprise and promotes economic development. The company was a major sponsor of the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region Petrochemical and Maritime Outlook Conference in September.

Continuing the theme of helping train and develop skills, Mobil Steel hires employees from Sagemont Church’s Helping Hands ministry which helps unemployed church members, as well as displaced spouses and children.
